The Final Stretch. Let’s Finish Strong.

Some say that the last 10% of a big project, job, journey, race is the toughest to get through. This can be for a number of reasons — the excitement and momentum at the start has worn off, your tired, the most tedious or complex pieces have been put off to the end, you face unforeseen issues, distractions or even new priorities…the list goes on.

I agree with this…it’s easy to '“fizzle out” at the end of a project or job if you’re not paying attention to finishing strong. Here are some tips to doing just that:

  1. Acknowledge this reality. Face and embrace it, so you can tackle completion head on.

  2. Think big picture, but break it down. Identify smaller and more manageable pieces that need to get done to move forward. My preference is to have ones I can check off a list, especially when I’m inundated with requests and to-do items on my plate (of course, delegate if you can!)

  3. Do the hard thing first! Address and pay attention to difficult or unknown aspects early in the project.

  4. Manage perfectionism and don’t get stuck. Focus on progress and getting things done or moving forward is key. Sometimes doing something small will give you new ideas and better direction.

  5. Celebrate small wins and milestones along the way. Stay positive. Pat yourself on the back. Try to enjoy yourself. Remind yourself of what’s been accomplished and look ahead toward the finish line.

UNION VILLAS is nearing completion. The driveway was poured last week, pavers and garage doors are going in this week. Landscaping is scheduled to start soon. As these projects often go, there seem to be a million tasks to complete right before the finish…Almost there!!

Comment below what I’ve missed. I just thought of one. My good friend always tells me to “Remember my WHY” to help me keep up with my physical fitness goals. DM me if I can help with any real estate questions or needs. Or if you want to go for a run. :)
